Updates from His Created Female

New Name - Renewed Purpose!

New Name - Renewed Purpose!
For those who have not noticed, this blog (along with my Facebook page) has been rebranded.  My blog used to be Far Above Rubies, and while that was a beautiful name for a beautiful blog, it drifted away with the previous blog author.

When I got locked out of the blog site (used for posts and edits), I figured that if I ever brought it back, I should rename everything.  Thus, now my blog is called His Created Female

My hope and aim here is to speak unashamedly about the truth from God's Word about "His created female".  Why did He make her?  What is her purpose, which He gave?  Who is she to Him?

In addition to those questions, I want this blog to be a resource for YOU.  One thing I've added to the site is a place where you can submit your questions about life, your questions from the Bible, or anything else you need to know. This will function much like the old "Dear Abby" column of the past. You can ask anything, and I (or a team I assemble) will decide whether to post an answer on the blog or to write you back directly. Don't worry--your identities and information will be kept private, but I do reserve the right to ask a qualified (male) pastor for help in answering your questions, when it is warranted.

Ladies, I just don't think that I need to answer every question, nor do I believe I should teach on every subject.  SO, I will pull in as many others who ARE to do so, as often as I can.  My personal conviction is that I ought to urge, encourage, and admonish younger women in the things from Titus 2:4-5.  Those will be my focus here on the blog and Facebook page. And pray that I will be wise and also humble in the places and on the topics about which I need to remain silent, and let one to whom God has given teaching authority do the talking--or writing.

I hope you will subscribe, so you can get emailed blog posts and website updates, as well as invitations to Bible studies, prayer prompts, and more.  I am here as a resource, to serve the Lord by serving you.

After you subscribe, go ahead and submit a question on the "Dear Melissa..." link at the top of the home page, or submit a website idea, spelling error, or any other suggestion in the Suggestion Box (found under "Connect").

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Meet His Created Female

My husband and I have been married for 25 years, and he is my hero!  We met each other in high school, where I fell head-over-heels for him while in 9th grade and told all of my friends I would marry him one day!  Our story includes him going off to college for a time, reuniting later in my high school years, and marrying when I was just 21 years old.

We now have three rewards from God, and we homeschool all three.  They are 18, 17, and 15, at the date of writing this.

We live in the great state of Alabama now, though we are originally from South Carolina.  Southerners in every way, except that neither of us talk like southerners!  Don't believe me?  Let's talk one day!  :)

I am excited to be writing here on topics such as marriage, motherhood, homemaking, homeschooling, womanhood, and about my personal journey!  The Lord has been so faithful to continue to work on me.  I'm not "done" yet...but I know He is working extra hard to complete the work He has begun in me!  I'm not perfect.  (There, I said it.)  I'm REAL.  (Some may say TOO real.)  And my heart is for women.

I am excited to get started here at His Created Female, which is a rebranding of my former blog (Far Above Rubies).  I have much to say, now that I am an older, "aging" woman.  My hope and prayer is to provide you with resources and encouragement as you run your own race in this life. I'm here to pray for you, answer your questions, and to share what the Lord lays on my heart as often as I can.  My heart is for Titus 2 ministry to younger women, but if you are older/aging like me, there will be plenty for you, too, as we get more equipped to do the urging, encouraging, and admonishing of the younger women, as the Lord has called us to do.

The journey I have been on for the past few years has been painful, and yet so good.  I look forward to sharing it with you!

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you'll stick around!  Subscribe to get updates whenever I blog, or when I want to send out an email!
